What is Invisalign?
Invisalign uses a system of clear aligners that are custom-designed based on molds of your teeth. Our dental team uses the cutting-edge Itero: Intraoral Scanner to create a digital model of our patients' teeth. With this tool, we are able to not only create custom-fit clear aligners, but we can share with patients a digital simulation of their results at the end of treatment! Constructed from comfortable BPA-free plastics, Invisalign aligners gradually move your teeth into position by exerting gentle pressure. Patients receive new aligners every few weeks during their treatment, each made specifically for their teeth. These aligner trays are nearly clear, serving as a discreet way to straighten one's smile. Have you avoided braces for fear that they may be embarrassing or juvenile? That won't be a problem with your near invisible Invisalign trays!
How long does Invisalign take?
Treatment time varies depending on your teeth and personal cosmetic goals. A majority of cases complete treatment between 6 and 8 months, but other factors can extend this process. Luckily, Invisalign aligners are discreet, painless, and allow for patients to brush and floss without obstruction.
Why Invisalign and not traditional braces?
Invisalign is both discreet and removable. Being able to remove their trays allows patients to maintain their oral hygiene routine without obstruction. With traditional braces, there are many foods patients have to avoid such as popcorn or gum, for fear of bending wires or popping brackets. Invisalign users can eat in peace without concern! Choosing Invisalign also means shorter visits to your dentist for trays.
Invisalign and our practice
Our practices are proud to be 2021 Invisalign Gold Plus Providers. In 2018, Invisalign launched the Advantage Program. This recognizes the experience of Invisalign trained doctors and teams over a period of six months, and is awarded yearly. A Gold Plus Provider has a higher level of education and experience with Invisalign.
